Peterjohn defends property rights

As a staunch defender of property rights Peterjohn has fought for additional protection from eminent domain abuse by special interests.

Peterjohn has worked to reduce county spending hikes as well as eliminating excessive jail expenses. Sedgwick County’s check book is now open and available on line to taxpayers because of Peterjohn’s efforts. Peterjohn is a suppporter of term limits and has self-limited his public service as a Sedgwick County commissioner.

Peterjohn understands finances

Karl Peterjohn worked for Ronald Reagan in the California Department of Finance. Peterjohn has two degrees in economics from Ohio University. Peterjohn has international business experience as well as local service on the Wichita Library Board where he was treasurer, and chaired the finance committee as well as on other city boards.

For 16 years Peterjohn was the leading spokesman for Kansas taxpayers as the executive director of the Kansas Taxpayers Network until his election to the Sedgwick County commission. Peterjohn served on a state advisory board and his editorial commentary as a taxpayer advocate has been published extensively in newspapers across this state.
